General information about things that Nicholas Hay knows about.

There’s a lot of goddamn rules in printmaking.

09.10-30-8

This is just the beginning.  I think that an additional requirement should be a notepad.

Yuko made this sign.  Remember the smiley face because it will make an appearance later.

Affixed to the print shop is a small clean room for eating and such.  It inspires a lot of sign making.

09.10-30-12

I didn’t really think that this would be necessary to say.

The walls have a magnetic coating of iron particles that is mixed with the paint.  I actually appreciate this sign because I had to put four coats of the paint on the walls one time and if someone put a thumbtack in the wall it would cause a big chip.

09.10-30-15

I think that this is the biggest and most recent sign.  Someone added a comment to the bottom.  That person better be careful.

09.10-30-16

This sign is nicely laminated to protect it from the elements.  I want to say that mats is spelled wrong, but I am not sure.

09.10-30-17

09.10-30-18

This sign is probably the most interdisciplinary.  It requires photography and a drawing/writing hybrid.  Plus it references printing making with the print that is hanging on the wall in the image.  Clever.

09.10-30-19

This is my favorite sign because it reminds me of the Beavis and Butthead episode where one of the guys cut off their finger while trying to chainsaw the legs off of a grasshopper.

09.10-30-22

09.10-30-23

This is a pretty new one.  I honestly don’t think that I have seen it before.

09.10-30-24

This one is an interesting exploration of typography.

09.10-30-25

I don’t know why they left the a out of lithography.  Also, this hand done font isn’t working at all.

09.10-30-30

I think that this one fell down.

09.10-30-39

09.10-30-40

This is a good sign because in the illustration you can actually tell which side is the round side and which side is the sharp side.

09.10-30-41

I think that the visual hierarchy in this one went a little overboard.

09.10-30-48

I think that this one is pretty old and since it’s creation someone went back and digitized it because one of the earlier signs has almost the same wording.

09.10-30-49

This one actually ventures slightly into the third dimension.  I think that it really helps to re-enforce the reality of a poor decision.

09.10-30-50

This one is actually a joke.  I think.

09.10-30-51

This is a new type of sign.  It is actually inside of a drawer covering a bunch of masking paper.

Remember the smiley face from earlier.  I had permission to open this drawer.  That is Yuko’s foot.

09.10-30-60

This is Rand’s face and hat.
